About Me
I’m Lois Ellen Martin, a nature photographer based from the upper corner of East Tennessee. I offer fine art prints of nature from the south central Appalachian region. I have been photographing nature around our area for over 14 years. Outside of photography, I enjoy reading, hiking, and getting to know different cultures and languages. I live with my husband of 19 years.About My Photography
Years ago at Berea College, I took as many art classes as I could while getting my degree in Spanish. I learned the fundamentals of photography in one of those classes. I gained a love of seeing the world through my international studies and work. I still love to explore, and I always go out with a camera in hand. With the question, What can I see?, I try to look for beauty and interest wherever it can be found in the wild. I began learning nature photography by simply photographing in our yard and neighborhood. Now I take time to explore further afield, on day trips around the area or stops on road trips through Appalachia. I hope that through my photography, others would be inspired to notice in creation what might otherwise be passed by without pause or delight.Shows
